Federico Coderoni is a media composer, music producer and sound artist. From traditional notation to the unknown side of sound, he shapes music as a language to communicate with the most intimate level of people. He began studying keyboard, piano and singing at the age of six. Growing up, he played in many bands of different genres, starting with covers of classic rock idols, then creating his first original pop/rock music. Influenced by the indie rock phenomenon of the early 2000s, he bought his first synthesizers and sequencers. In his college years, he began his real journey into electronic music and virtual orchestration.

Education

After finishing high school, he chose to enroll at the University of Rome ‘Tor Vergata’. During his experience in the Sound Science course, he was able to learn many different tricks behind the processes of audio post-production and sound synthesis acquiring technical knowledge directly addressed to practical experience.

During those years he discovered computer music and the universe of sound synthesis. Because of this change of perspective, in 2012, he chose to redirect his studies towards the course of Composition of Electroacoustic Music at the Conservatory of Santa Cecilia. There he had the opportunity to study under the guidance of authoritative Masters such as Giorgio Nottoli, Michelangelo Lupone, Riccardo Santoboni, Enrico Cosimi and Silvio Relandini.

From 2012 to 2016 he was a student gaining professional experience as a sound engineer and full-time music producer at

Cosecomuni Recording Studio, label of the Italian band Velvet. This period completely evolved him as a professional: on a normal day he’d go to electroacoustic lessons in the morning to study how a circuit works, in the afternoon he’d go to the studio and spend hours using analogue equipment. Also, in those years, he specialized in virtual orchestrations and sound design, developing a combination of cutting-edge technical skills, music production and composition.

Soon after graduating from the Conservatory, he moved to Berlin in 2016 where he works collaborating with media production companies, filmmakers and artists from around the world. Having won a scholarship provided by SIAE, he pursues an advanced diploma in sound engineering and music production at dBs Music Berlin Academy in 2018.

Artistic Career

After many experiences as a keyboardist in the panorama of emerging bands in Rome, in 2012 he was included in the formation of Velvet as a keyboardist as well as a producer in their label, effectively entering the record market and the world of film music in Rome. Thanks to the collaboration with Cosecomuni, he established a professional relationship with the famous director Matteo Rovere and wrote a song for Italian Race (2016), starring Stefano Accorsi. In those years, he composed several theme songs for RAI radio and television programs.

Once in Berlin, he collaborated with the young and talented Los Angeles-based director Tancredi Di Paola, for whom he created the soundtrack for the short film “Mama” (2018) and “83rd Street” (2018), starring Tamar Pelzig.

His works have been selected to be part of the soundtracks for different media productions. Prominent among them are Fandango, 01 Distribution, SONY Pictures, Netflix, ABC, FOX, RAI, SKY, TIMVision
