The big day has come: Music For The Planet is out today, 22 April, Earth Day 2019.
I don’t know who has listened to my music so far, who has read the articles I have written, or who have been inspired to find out more about the various organizations and initiatives that I have flagged during this journey. I want to thank everyone nonetheless: those who followed me from the beginning, those who joined the journey started, those who looked for me, and those who happened by chance. This was my first personal musical project, my firstborn as a composer. The fact of having managed to bring to life all that has been the creative process and the imaginary inserted within it is something of which I will always be proud of.
But I want to share an aphorism that someone once said…
I think having land and not ruining it is the most beautiful art that anybody could ever want.
-Andy Warhol
We are one with the Earth.
Earth is our mother: it protects us and feeds us at all times, giving us air to breathe, freshwater to drink, food to eat, and healing herbs to heal us when we are sick.
Every breath we take contains nitrogen, oxygen, water vapor and trace elements from our planet. When we breathe in awareness, we can experience the nature of the whole being that exists between us and the delicate atmosphere of the earth, the plants, and even with the sun, whose light makes possible the miracle of photosynthesis.
With each breath we can savour the wonders of life.
We need to change the way we see things so that we understand that the Earth is not just the environment in which we live, it is not something outside of us. The conscious breathing and contemplation of our body allow us to understand that we are the Earth and that our consciousness is also one of the Earth. Looking around us what we see is not only our environment, it is ourselves. The closer we can get to this dimension of intimate contact and inner softness, the more we will awaken in ourselves the awareness that by healing the earth we will heal ourselves.
Taking care of Mother Earth means becoming more responsible, with our actions towards her. In re-educating ourselves towards an ecology of interdependence, our actions will be more respectful towards all other living beings, managing to live that sacredness that we have recognized.
When our aspiration is in harmony with the evolutionary plan of universal love, we will finally be able to rediscover and give profound meaning to our existence and with it discover with amazement the magic of life.
For the Planet and for all living beings, especially for you, Eva. I love you.
