commission
A new reading of the Ukrainian folk song “Oh, Don’t Cry, Ukrainians” for Ballet for Life 2025 by Iana Salenko, produced and then performed live with KEBU.
Ballet for Life by Iana Salenko returned to the Admiralspalast Berlin on 4 May 2025, bringing together dancers from companies worldwide in classical and contemporary works, in support of the UNBROKEN KIDS Rehabilitation Center in Ukraine. The piece was choreographed by Arshak Ghalumyan and danced by Iana Salenko.
Oh, don’t cry, Ukrainians.
The music reworks the old Ukrainian folk song “Ой, не плачте, українці” as a new production. That production was then performed live on stage with KEBU, alongside Arshak Ghalumyan’s choreography.
